Tough Year for Muslims?

Al Jazeera said this was a tough year for Muslims in America.

In a fairy tale written by Islamist Abdus Sattar Ghazali, Muslims in America were being treated as second-class citizens, they are discriminated against and Americans are prejudiced and Islamophobic.

To prove his point, he brought up the CAIR orchestrated event where six imams had to be forcibly removed from the US Airways flight after purposely inciting and frightening passengers and air personnel.

He referred to both Virgil Goode and Dennis Prager who thought Nation of Islam disciple and CAIR's representatives in Congress, Keith Ellison should use the Bible instead of the Koran in his swearing in ceremony for U.S. Congress...a tradition followed ever since George Washington used the Bible when being sworn in as president.

Listen to how Ghazali describes these incidents:
"These recent episodes symbolize the dilemma of American Muslims in post-9/11 America. More than half a decade after 9/11, seven-million strong American Muslim community remains under siege with constant attacks on its faith. The events of 9/11 were used as an excuse to greatly magnify the hostility toward Muslims and cloak it in pseudo-patriotism. Unfortunately, Muslim-bashing has become socially acceptable in the United States . Bigots' venom against Islam and Muslims, once shocking has become the mainstream."


Basically he is calling all Americans BIGOTS as he states the venom against against Islam and Muslims is "mainstream". This is a typical charge of Muslim leaders here in America. Anyone who speaks out against Islam is a bigot. Nowhere does he accept any of the responsibilities that Islamic leaders refuse to fulfill. Instead of even modest attempts at fitting in with the larger society, America must change its ways to accommodate Islam. Even criticizing Islamic groups such as CAIR is considered a form of bigotry.
Ahmed Bedier stated "We are to the American Muslim community what the NAACP is to blacks in America. If you attack us, you are attacking the Muslim community and the religion of Islam in this country."

Is a Hamas front group with ties to terrorism really the equivalent of Islam? CAIR may claim to represent ALL American Muslims but in actuality, only represents Sunni Arab Muslims.

Islamic leaders even have the gall to demand Dennis Prager be removed from the Holocaust Council. Their charge? This should be no surprise...bigotry.
"No one who holds such bigoted, intolerant and divisive views should be in a policy-making position at a taxpayer-funded institution that seeks to educate Americans about the destructive impact hatred has had, and continues to have, on every society," CAIR's executive director, Nihad Awad, wrote in a letter to the council's chairman, Fred Zeidman."

Starting to sound familiar?

Besides..according to many Muslims, the Holocaust was a complete fabrication. Why should they care who sits on their board?

According to Mr. Ghazali, this year has been so tough that it has been detrimental to the mental health of American Muslims. He cites a study supposedly done by Yale Psychologist Mona Amer and the American Psychological Foundation.

Now let's look and see who really had a tough year in 2006.
Here is only a very small sample of non-Muslims who have had a considerably worse year in 2006. I have left out the plight of Christians in Bethlehem because the mainstream media has decided that blaming Hamas and Hezbollah for the atrocities they commit is shortsighted and bigoted.
They ignore the fact that Bethlehem was 90% Christian only a short time ago.
Thirty years ago no one in the city had ever heard of Hamas; now more than 30 percent of the city is Hamas and it's growing every year. Bethlehem's municipal council now includes members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad but the media would rather blame Israel for erecting a wall in self-defense for the plight of Christians in Bethlehem.
Making the perpetrators of genocide responsible for their actions doesn't seem popular in today's media outlets.

Bashir Ahmad Tantray was a Christian convert killed in Kashmir November 21, 2006. His crime? Apostasy. Muslims are free to convert (dawa) Christians and believers of other faiths here in America. Even groups with ties to terrorism, such as the Islamic Thinkers Society, are allowed this privilege. What does this group think the punishment should be for the crime of converting from Islam to Christianity?
DEATH!

Nigerian Christians. This past November 19, 15 Christians were slaughtered and over a dozen churches burned. Jihadist ideology in Africa is funded and encouraged by such oil-rich Arab countries as Saudi Arabia. Along the East coast of Africa, from Somalia to South Africa, al-Qaeda and its allies are creating terrorist centers. Millions of black Africans have been killed, wounded, raped, enslaved and displaced by Jihadis in Sudan, Mauritania, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria.

11 other Nigerian churches were burned in September over the Pope's recent comments. In Ethiopia, six Christians were killed and 15 injured by a mob of 300 Muslims.
September 17, an Italian nun was shot and killed in Somalia.

2 churches burned in the West Bank the Pope's comments.
4 synagogues burned in Gaza December 19, 2006


It was a tough year for Italian Father Andrea Santoro, the Catholic priest was shot and killed in Trabzon, Turkey over CARTOON's. This man, totally unconnected with the publication of Danish cartoons mocking Mohammed was killed because he was in the wrong place...in his church praying. Mohammed's followers entered a Catholic Church and executed Father Santoro.
It was also a tough year for Paulos Iskander, a Syriac-Orhtodox priest . He was kidnapped on October 9 of this year and beheaded October 11. A 14-year-old boy was also crucified in this incident. Other Iraqi Catholic priests have also been kidnapped. Catholic girls in Iraq are being raped and murdered just so Islamic radicals can earn their way into paradise.

This also wasn't a great year for Buddhist monks in Thailand.
Muslim insurgency has prompted hundreds of Buddhists to flee their homes in the restive south, creating refugee-like communities of Thais in their own country.
Buddhist monks have been beheaded, Buddhist teachers slain, and leaflets distributed around Buddhist villages warn that raising dogs and drinking alcohol are offensive to Muslims.
Buddhist monks killed in Thailand...1700 since 2004.


Many members of the State Department believe Southeast Asia is becoming a second front for global Jihad. Islamist groups in Southeast Asia, including those in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore are known to have ties to the Al Qaeda terrorist network.

Indonesia has become a very tough place for Christians. Non-Muslims schoolgirls have been raped and killed.
In some cases, government soldiers have aided radical Muslims kill Christian villagers. In a recent attack at Ambon, the Indonesian capital of the Maliku Islands, 32 villagers were killed...all Christians.
As in other Muslim countries, priests have often become targets. The Rev Irianto Kongkoli was shot in the head while shopping in Palu, the capital of Central Sulawesi province.

Australia has warned of possible militant attacks in Indonesia over the Christmas and holiday season...the United States issued the same warning last week.

So why do Americans have a negative image of Islam?

Abdus Sattar Ghazali has blamed American politicians. "Americans' attitudes about Islam and Muslims are fuelled mainly by political statements and media reports that focus almost solely on the negative image of Islam and Muslims."
Terms such as Islamofascism are used by President Bush to create negative stereotypes.
"The growing anti-Islamic sentiment in this country was reflected in the unfortunate use of the offensive term "Islamic fascist" by President George Bush who equated Islam with fascism."

As always...it is America's fault for the negative stereotype of Muslims. Never accept blame and label anyone in their way a bigot. A tried and successful strategy.


Footnote..Mona Amer at the time of the study supposedly showing detrimental mental-health towards Muslims, was actually a University of Toledo graduate student doing an internship at Yale. Not a Yale Psychologist. In other words, all she had was a Bachelor's Degree and this study was measuring differences between Arab Christians and Arab Muslims. The findings were completely unrelated to the claims made by Mr. Ghazali...a fact never checked by Al Jazeera or anybody else. Apparently the truth is less important than the sensational claims.
