New York's Three Ring Circus
Like all good circuses, New York's race baiters held their own version of Barnum & Bailey's act.
A roiling crowd of 40,000 protesters poured onto Fifth Avenue yesterday to protest the 'fusillade'..their words... of 50 cop bullets that killed a groom on his wedding day - and to demand better treatment by the NYPD.
Ringleader and Master of Ceremonies Al Sharpton pushed Trent Benefield, one of two men who survived being wounded in the Queens shooting.
Charlie Rangel was there. Never one to miss free publicity, Charlie blamed the Police Department and cited "We've got to give our police more training,".
Blaming the police was a common theme.
"Cops need to learn you can't just kill people - we're not roaches," said Raynada Glover, 52, of the South Bronx. "We're human beings."
Michelle Bethea, a 51-year-old legal assistant, decried alleged racism in the NYPD.
"The black people of America are treated like dirt," she said. "Our kids don't live to see 21 because of the people that are supposed to protect us."
Now there's a reasoned response. Forget drug addiction, single-parent families, black on black crime and role models like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
It's so much easier to blame the police.
And let's ignore the fact that six of the nine members of the police task force that shot Sean Bell and his companions last month were black. Six of nine.
Of the five shooters, three were black.
But why let the facts get in the way. The race baiters certainly aren't.
They're hoping to inflame black New Yorkers against a police force they want to portray as white and racist: "This racist policy of 'shoot to kill' in Black and Latino communities must stop now," their flier says.
Isn't it just possible that most crimes happen in these communities?
Even the Black Panthers have gotten involved. The Black Panthers have called for a holiday boycott of stores not owned by African American community members.
No racism there...
Now they are aiming to shut down Wall Street on Friday to protest what they say is "an unspoken but racist" NYPD policy that targets blacks and Hispanics. December 21 is being dubbed "a day of public outrage".
The event's organizers - groups known as the December 12th Movement and the Black Men's Movement - point to the police shooting of Sean Bell last month as a prime example.
They depict white officers as the culprits in a "racist" plot.
They also depict the victims as "innocent civilians".
No mention of the fact that when one of the undercovers identified himself as an officer, the car holding the party twice tried to run him down.
The officer started firing while yelling to the car’s occupants: “Let me see your hands.” His colleagues, believing they were under attack, fired their guns at the car to protect the undercover officer.
No gun was found in the car, but witnesses and video footage confirm that a fourth man in the party fled the scene once the altercation began. Bell and the other men with him all had been arrested for illegal possession of guns in the past. One of the men had been convicted of shooting another man in a robbery.
More facts that these black "leaders" want to ignore.

Excellent, excellent post, AC! Let's not let facts get in the way of blaming the cops for all of the inner city's ills.

I would argue that the parents, or lack thereof, are the direct cause of that statement.
For 50 years minorities have been allowed to vote. People don’t realize that races don’t mix together and survive. That’s why they have latino, black, asian and white neighborhoods. They don’t have non-discrimintory neighborhoods anywhere in America. Races of people survive by being racist and huddling together as a group. Look at the prison system, that is a perfect example of what is going on in society in general. The pathetic thing is to see all these employment forms that seem to be neutral but when you apply you don’t get hired because you’re a white male. Neutrality is always a cover to decieve people of the real agenda. If America gets nuked by terrorist and law and order break down you can bet mexicans will be killing white men like nazis did to jews. When people say "don't be racist" maybe they should be reminded they survived because of racism. It's not like being a white person born in California happened because all the Indians and white people got along.
Several years ago (around July 4) I was visiting friends that lived in a predominanlty black neighborhood. I was sitting on a chair in the living room when the bottle rocket came through the screen door and blew up by my feet. No one was hurt, there was a hole in the screen door and a burn mark on the floor. Eleven black witnesses told the black police officer who set the rocket off. The suspect claimed he was being blamed because he was black. In this case the race card wouldn't play.

Anonymous poster who says races can't mix- that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard! I lived in a neighborhood that was mixed white, arab, jew, black and hispanic and we didn't have any racial tension whatsoever. Everybody just went to work, came home and lived their lives. There isn't enough time for that. And somehow I doubt you live anywhere near California. It isn't how they show it in the movies dummy. Here, read this article:

And if you're worried about being discriminated against because you're white, start you're own business. In the long run you'll make more money anyway. This is America, land of Capitalism. If you are crying because you're job as a wage slave was taken from you, move to Canada! Toughen up! You don't deserve to be an American if you can't overcome challenges!
I hear people like you all the time. Stay safe, stay in your neighborhood, stay with your race. You're no different than "those Mexicans who would kill all the whites." That isn't the America. America is where you get out of your comfort zone and become something great. If you want to live in a land of guaranteed employment and heavy ethnic divisions, move to Eastern Europe.
PS: Slight correction- the group that marched was the NEW Black Panther Party. They were denounced by the original Black Panthers for being racists. You may not agree with their socialist politics but the Black Panthers would never call for a boycott of all non-black businesses. They have sued this new group several times to try to make them give up their name. The Panthers were against black nationalism (white supremacy thrown on it's head); this new group is for it and is actually part of the Nation Of Islam.

Eric Adams keeps getting promoted no matter how much he criticizes his peers. Why is there always a racial angle on this. I wish we can examine this on the merrits. Did the police over react? What led them to open fire. Why did the van slam into an unmarked police car?
This needs to be examined withut racial bagage.
These same kinds of people cry when crime happens to them. And the Police do something about it, they cry about that!
In reality it IS the minorites causing most of the crime. That is not being racist, it's the facts.

The true agenda becomes apparent when they say they want to shut down Wall Street. That has nothing to do with the police. This is a big thing with the black power crowd- trying to shut down the economy around Christmas. They do it every year. I know the Nation Of Islam tries to "fast" during December. It's stupid as Hell. These dudes need to get out of the Sixties.
anonymous..I must take exception to your post. I grew up on Army bases where racial integration was the norm. Now I admit that the military provides special circumstances but I believe in any situation where a common goal is shared by the community race will not be the deciding factor.
On military bases, you don't have phony politicians drumming up racial divide for personal gain.

Great post, AC! I agree with your comment to Anonymous as well. As someone who lived on Army Bases for 20 years of my life, I can say with certainty that you're exactly right.
If I felt the way Anonymous does I wouldn't be able to live in Texas. We have more Mexicans in the small town nearest us than we do whites, but it doesn't bother me. I like Mexicans. They are a friendly and outgoing people, at least most of them are. It's only illegal aliens I have a problem with, no matter what their color or where they're from. These days I see more black people engaging in racism than I do whites, and this post is a perfect example of some black leaders trying to stir up a hornets nest where there aren't any hornets.
